Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his distinct blend of soul gospel jazz R&B and R&B. She's performed all over from Broadway through The Democratic National Convention to the European scene of clubs and festivals. Sunshine is the daughter of Denise White. While she's based in Atlanta Her roots lie in Chester Pennsylvania. There she first began to develop as a musician, playing instruments and singing in the church. After attending Spellman College, Atlanta she began her music career on Atlanta's R&B culture. It was remixed and now is an element of her set. She has also contributed her voice to the music of The Fighting Temptations. In 2005she took on the role of the pianist in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. In 2007 Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to become the choral director for the play's theatrical version of Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention for her four-day performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was eventually invited to sing for President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
